Donald Stephen Wedderburn-Ogilvy was born on October 23rd 1900, son of Thomas and Marion Agnes Wedderburn-Ogilvy (née KOE).
Married first Mona Alice EUSTACE, 11 June 1924 in Totnes, who died 12 December 1925 in Honiton, Devon, their son Caryl Eustace born Honiton on 10 December 1925.
He then married Myra Caroline Henrietta EASTACE [7-8-1905], on 7th February 1929, their son Peter was born 20th March 1931 reg Newton Abbot. CWGC have her address as Ballycarney, Co. Wexford, Republic of Ireland but probate has the address as Old School House, West Stow. There does not appear to be a direct relationship between the two EUSTACE families.

In the 1939 register they were at "The Old School House", West Stow, Donald was a commercial traveller in bakery and confectionery, and on the Royal Navy Emergency List. There are 3 closed entries.


Thistle V was a hired drifter, Admiralty No.2032, built in 1900, 77 grt, served in WW1 as a boom defence vessel. Requisitioned April 1940 as auxilliary patrol vessel, September 1940 as examination vessel. She was sunk by a mine off Lowestoft. No image has been found, but she would be similar to this drifter below:
